该住宅位于韩国首尔城北洞的住宅区，北面是地处北岳山山脊的古城，首尔市中心的风景在这里一览无余。
在东北走向的斜坡上有一排筑有高墙的住宅，其中，“Scarlett Terre”住宅的墙壁与其中心结构融为一体，勾勒出住宅地界的同时，成为供行人欣赏的一道风景。
庭院位于与道路接壤的两面之间，呈“L”状包围着住宅。
L形结构的交叉处呈开放式，使行人得以在狭窄的墙壁间行走并欣赏周围的风景，而门廊则设在侧面。交叉区域的内部由开放的室外空间组成，这些空间设有垂直流通系统及下沉部分，从而形成可保护私人区域的屏障，同时为两侧的空间打造流通系统。
全面开放的墙壁如同连续不断的“皮肤”包裹着室内空间。
住宅内设有各种独具特色的空间，构成了与邻近露台及阳台紧密联系的开放区域。
二楼设有分别供夫妻及孩子使用的私人空间。下沉的地下室通向一楼，专为各种聚会活动而设，成为业主全家共享的空间。
传统住宅的格局——客厅、厨房及家庭活动室——难以十分圆满地满足住户的各种要求，基于这种理念，该住宅客厅的设计以满足各种集会需求为准，而非接待及用餐等日常用途。
底层的设计也旨在满足各种聚会需求，包括用餐、家庭会议及招待等，同时为想要在低矮的沙发上放松身心的人们营造开阔的视野。该建筑旁边设有凉亭，可供住户享受简单的锻炼及娱乐活动。
一楼朝二楼开放的天花板，使住户得以在白天躺下仰望蓝天，如置身户外的露台庭院一般。
供夫妻使用的私人空间位于客厅的上层，而图书室则因容易变成积满灰尘的封闭空间而改造成了露台。
直线型的露台从二楼的主卧延伸至花园，并向着整个城市全面开放。
该项目以建造者的积极参与为起点，成为重新诠释住宅特殊需求的有趣尝试，并随着时间的推移反映住户的日常生活习惯。
