对于那些正在用心改变世界的人们来说，社会创新中心是一个联合办公中心、一个社区、也是一个启动平台。这个位于纽约的联合办公中心，是由MCDC公司的设计师Matthew Cohen打造的。在这里，我们不仅为他们提供所必需的各种办公软硬件，以助于他们走向成功或者扩大影响，而且我们正在促进的是一个非营利性的组织，一个可以让那些企业家、艺术家和活动家们跨界合作，去创造更美好的世界的地方。我们相信，这个世界的经济、环境、社会和文化各方面目前都存在着不可预知的困难和挑战，同时，我们还坚信，创新是将这些挑战转化为动力和机遇，改善全人类居住环境的不二法宝。

社会创新中心联合办公室于2013年启用至今已经两年了，两年来它已经迅速成长为一个拥有200多家公益企业、非盈利团体、创意创新公司跨界合作的中心，所从事的合作领域从农艺到金融无所不包。在办公中心的装修方面，我们主要采用可回收的材料，这一点得到了社会的广泛认可，并且世界各地的许多公司团体都要求前来参观学习。回收材料利用最成功的地方，是我们那间仿照尼加拉瓜大瀑布样式建造的厨房，厨房的桌子是用被建筑商丢弃的货运电梯做成的，而挂衣服的木制挂钩，则是从原先的修道院墙上拆下来的。

The Centre for Social Innovation is a coworking space, community, and launchpad for people who are changing the world. The New York City-based coworking space was opened in 2013 and designed by Matthew Cohen of MCDC.We provide our members with the tools they need to accelerate their success and amplify their impact. Together, we’re building a movement of nonprofits, for-profits, entrepreneurs, artists and activists working across sectors to create a better world. We believe that society is facing unprecedented economic, environmental, social and cultural challenges. We also believe that new innovations are the key to turning these challenges into opportunities to improve our communities and our planet.

Since we opened our doors almost two years ago, Center for Social Innovation NYC has grown into a thriving community of over 200 social entrepreneurs, nonprofits, creatives and innovators working across sectors, from farming to finance and everything in between.We used a lot of sustainable/reclaimed materials in the build out of our space and get a lot of requests to visit from delegations around the world. Examples of reclaimed materials are our kitchen which was an apothecary in Niagra falls, our kitchen tables which were made from freight elevators that were being thrown out by the building, a coat wall with coat hooks/wood from a former convent, etc.
