Sales Manager & Senior Proposals Engineer

1. Sales Manager (or Senior Sales Engineer)

WORK ACTIVITIES:

Plans, develops and implements sales strategy and sells to key clients to achieve sales volume.
Proposes, develops, implements and monitors sales consistent with overall company strategy.

Participates in the preparation and monitoring of overall sales strategies and the development of marketing programs.

Develops and maintains relationships with allocated customers and potential new accounts.

Seeks out competitor information and communicates to his superior.

Assists in preparation of proposals and submits price to his superior for approval before submission to client.

Negotiates contracts with clients and communicates progress with his supervisor. Signature of contract has to be approved by his supervisor.

Assists company project manager in execution of the contract.

Acts as a liaison between the project manager and the client.

Follows up progress payment by client to insure on-time collection of receivables.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) or Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Chemical, Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering.

5-10 years experience in similar type of work described under WORK ACTIVITIES above preferably in the field of industrial water and wastewater treatment.

Good grasp of computer applications, in particular: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access and Power Point.

Preferably Chinese national or Chinese expat with recent work experience in China

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Experience in sales to multinational companies or having strong contacts in a particular industry (such as Chemical, Petrochemical, Steel, Pharmaceutical, Auto-Manufacturing, Food & Beverage).

Bi-lingual: Good grasp of Mandarin and English (reading and writing)

2. Senior Proposals Engineer

WORK ACTIVITIES:

Prepares Proposals and Supervises, Reviews and Approves Proposals Prepared by Proposal Staff

Prepares proposals, develops and monitors proposal preparation. Stays updated with water and wastewater treatment processes and equipment used. Prepares a database of equipment suppliers and prices (local and international) and updates the database regularly. Advises the sales manager on data required for proposal preparation. Assists the sales manager in negotiating contracts with clients.
After contract signature explains the details of the proposal to the both the head of engineering department and the head of the projects department.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum BSc degree in chemical, mechanical or environmental engineering in the same order of preference. Minimum 5 years experience in preparation of detailed engineering proposals in industrial water and wastewater treatment systems with emphasis on industrial wastewater treatment. Experienced in selection of water or wastewater treatment process based on flow and water analysis of inlet and effluent. Good knowledge in selection of water and wastewater treatment components, such as pumps, pipes, filters, clarifiers, thickeners, aerators, mechanical screens, filter presses, belt and filter presses, blowers, diffusers, chemical pumps, membranes for UF and RO, etc. Should be able to prepare proposals in Chinese and English. Good knowledge of microsoft windows programs (word, excel, access, power point). Knowledge of ACAD is a plus.
Should be able to complete presentable and practical proposals within tight closing dates.
