Amicrochannelheatexchangerwasnumericallyanalyzedusingthefinitevolumemethod.Theairandrefrigerant-sideheattransfercoefficientsandpressuredropswerecalculatedusingtheexistingcorrelationsthatweredevelopedformicrochannelheatexchangers.Toverifythepresentmodel,performancetestsofthemicrochannelheatexchangerwereconductedatvarioustestconditionswithR134a.Thepresentmodelyieldedagoodcorrelationwiththemeasuredheattransferrate,demonstratingameandeviationof6.8%.TheperformanceofthemicrochannelevaporatorforCO2systemscanbeimprovedbyvaryingtherefrigerantflowratetoeachslabandchangingfinspacetoincreasethetwo-phaseregioninthemicrochannel.
