《青花瓷》歌词英译及其他

《青花瓷》的中国意味悠远深长。它曾被慧眼识珠的中学语文老师，编入语文考试。2008年的山东高考试题，甚至还引用了其中的几句歌词：“素胚勾勒出青花笔锋浓转淡”、“色白花青的锦鲤跃然于碗底”。
　　
　　青花瓷的英文，有现成的表达是the blue and white porcelain。前几日，和一位美国大学生谈及我正翻译的《青花瓷》，听到the blue and white，他的话锋一转，提到哥伦比亚大学的同名学生杂志The Blue and White。名字不知作何翻译。“青花”？抑或“蓝与白”？该杂志1890年创刊，封面蓝白相间，风格颇为淡雅。时事、政论、文化，包罗万象。
　　
　　哥伦比亚大学的新闻学院排名世界第一，其学生主持的百年杂志，水准可见一斑。尤其是2007年伊朗总统内贾德在哥伦比亚大学演讲，该杂志报道详尽，名噪一时。
　　
　　如此想来，一些意象，在人们心目中，出于不同文化背景，竟如此风牛马不相及。
