Job Title : Supplier Quality Engineer
Report to: Quality Manager in R&D location and dot-line ;report to plant manager
Job Level: Professional/Sr. Professional
Location : Jin Qiao plant, Shanghai, China

SUMMARY/SCOPE OF POSITION:
Controls purchased material in order to meet the requirements of Company’s customers, industrial standards and engineering specifications. Responsible for controlling some portion of the $130 Million purchased annually.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Functional
Coordinates the "root cause" diagnosis of non-conformances on purchased material.
Obtains effective corrective action to prevent recurrence of non-conformances.

Leadership
Oversees the evaluation of suppliers' Quality Systems and manufacturing capabilities through source audits and product data performance analysis.
Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Company policies and procedures.

Interpersonal
Tracks and reports on department activities to various levels throughout the Company.

Business
Verifies that purchased materials conform to Company’s customer and engineering requirements (this may be through the support of Receiving Inspection).
Assures that Company’s requirements are adequately defined and communicated to suppliers.
It is the responsibility of the employee to follow all applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position.
It is the responsibility of the employee to be familiar with the policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct and comply with both the letter and spirit of such policies and procedures.
Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental), and functional policies published on the Company’s Information Network.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
 B.S. degree or equivalent. ASQC certification is preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
 Strong working experience in SQE field, more than 3 yrs or other related position potential for SQE, e.g. quality.
 Strong knowledge on sheet metal, mechanical, electronic and electricity related aspects.
 Knowledge of QS9000 system, prefer the industry of automobile and etc.
 Be familiar with diverse categories in the SQE function.
 Good English communication and leadership style.
