 初识 

 见山,是山 

Mountain Setting


见山艺术中心位于重庆两江新区中央公园东侧区域,东侧为主干道,南侧为城市支路,北侧为城市次干道。作为一座山城,山地是重庆最重要特征和载体。艺术中心场地南北高差达18米,我们从一开始就摒弃传统的削峰填谷处理方式,以山地为设计元素,顺势营造,布置四层的基本体量来回应地势标高,通过与山地共融的方式来探索新的空间体验。

The project is situated on the east side of the Central Park, Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, with three urban roads on its east, south and north sides. Mountain is the most important characteristic and carrier of Chongqing, nicknamed a “mountain city”. Though the height difference between the north and the south of the site reaches 18 meters, we did not adopt conventional treatment of cutting peak and filling valley. Instead, we took mountain as design element to create a 4-storey building, thereby responding to the site elevation. We explored new spatial experiences by integrating the architecture with mountain.

建筑依山而建,基本形体错位切割,如山石般粗粝垒合。层层退台叠级而上,又如梯田般与自然共融共生。这样做既可顺应地形缓和场地的不利条件,同时也借山石与梯田的概念打造出极具艺术感的画廊,最终形成横向延伸,轻盈舒展的建筑形态。

Erected on the mountain, the basic volumes of the building are overlapped in a staggered manner, just like rough mountain rocks. Terraces are set back floor by floor, appearing like terraced fields fusing with nature. This not only adapts to the topography as well as site conditions, but also takes advantage of the concepts of mountain rocks and terraced fields to create an aesthetic “art gallery”, hence generating a lightweight architectural form that stretches horizontally.

 呈现 

 见山,不是山 

Mountain-inspired Architecture


根据空间属性将功能组团沿山势标高错位布置,最大限度减少土方调整的同时每个功能组团都能拥有独立且开阔的视野,下层的屋顶同时也是上层的平台,上下空间相互渗透,气息通达畅游。俯仰之间,视野开合幽闭,丰富了场所体验,模糊了建筑与自然的边界。

Based on the site elevations, various functional clusters with different spatial attributes are organized in a staggered way, minimizing land adjustment and enabling each functional cluster to embrace an independent and open view. The roof of the lower floor is also the platform of the upper floor, and upper and lower floors are mutually permeated, thus producing an interconnected spatial atmosphere. Open and closed views bring rich spatial experiences, whilst also blurring the boundary between the building and nature.

 剖析 

 见山,还是山 

Poetry of Mountain


考虑到重庆大部分时间里云雾缭绕,深色在这个环境下容易给人压抑的感觉,因此主材颜色选择浅灰色调的水绘石。水绘石以优雅知性的灰色融于设计中,将美学转化为精致的细节,它的应用与通透的超白玻璃相映成趣,为每一处空间赋上诗情画意。

Due to the frequent mist clouds covering Chongqing, dark color is prone to give people a feeling of depression. In light of this fact, light gray travertine is adopted as the main material. That elegant gray travertine is perfectly blended into the design transforms aesthetics into exquisite details. With travertine and transparent ultra-clear glass complementing each other, each space is given a sense of poetry.

建筑师使用超白玻璃表皮,以达到建筑形体与外观纯粹简洁的设计目标,确保整个艺术中心的连续性,空间更加整体。

Ultra-clear glass is applied to the building exteriors, with a view to forming a pure, simplistic image and making the entire building continuous and more integrated.

洽谈区在室内做了架空的两层,借由实体形式将空间做了有趣的分隔和变化,同时完成了“桥”的意向。这样的“桥”,不但起到分隔空间的作用,更消减了原建筑空间尺度过大的问题,人在空间中的感受将更加安定。整个空间的处理轻盈,流畅,充满诗意。

The negotiation area is a double-height space. There are two connecting passageways which add intriguing division and variation to the space, acting as “bridges”. The “bridges” help partition the space, while also reducing the excessive spatial scale and therefore making people feel more stable. In this way, the overall space looks lightweight and fluid, full of poetry.

 见山 

 见重重叠叠山 

Overlapping “Mountains”


我们希望呈现纯粹而低调的建筑特质,因此摒弃纷繁复杂的炫技手段,不去过分地炫耀建筑立面。材料和建构的简单明了让设计能够更好地融合自然景观,但界限的消失不意味着边界的消失,目的是做最适宜的建筑。

Aiming to present pure and low-key architectural features, the project abandons complicated design languages, without excessively highlighting building facades. Simple materials and structure allow the construction to better blend with natural landscapes, but it does not mean that their boundary disappears. The goal of the project is to create the most “moderate” architecture.

水绘石作为本次设计的第一材料语言,以其独特的洞石质感和匀称的淡雅纹理,赋予建筑独有的艺术气息。拼接上采用了横向错缝的密拼工艺,使建筑呈现出远看温润如玉,近看细致斑驳的视觉效果。

Travertine, the major material characterized by unique texture and even, elegant grain, endows the building with a distinctive artistic ambience. Laid in a horizontal and staggered manner, it helps generate an elegant image at close view as well as a delicate mottled visual effect at distant view.

艺术源于自然,而得以滋养生活。设计团队通过对石材锋利的大面切割,对玻璃精细的组织建构,用最简洁的语言和材料呈现出一座“雕山刻石,重归山野”的见山艺术中心。

Art comes from nature and also nourishes life. By cutting large stones and elaborately arranging glass, the design team conceived a mountain-featured building with the simplest languages and materials.
