Atop an office building in Eastern India, a celestial outdoor canopy by Abin Design Studio encourages an upward perspective. Over three years of development, 26 architects, designers, engineers, and fabricators led by Abin Design Studio founder and principal Abin Chaudhuri assembled the rooftop installation, which is made up of 752 spheres, each 1-3 feet in diameter. The spheres are supported by 11 structural columns, each 15 feet high.

Designed to be the guest entertainment area of the client's corporate office, this luxury rooftop project emphasises the space's connect with the sky. from the statement entrance water court to the glazed dining area, the project ties in natural elements with luxurious detailing providing one with a heightened sensorial experience.

Under a sky of stars, stands this terrace of rejoicing - of thought and contemplation, of gratitude for blessings and the prospect of a brighter future. Arising from the bubbles created by the water features, the rooftop unveils an installation of such mirrored pools of thought, frozen conversation bubbles, much like stars in the sky.

Made seamlessly of stainless steel spheres, the installation highlights the rise of a generation of stalwarts, their aspirations engaging the sky, while tethered to the ground, reflecting life and liveliness of ongoing celebrations.

Fastened to each module are dozens of hollow spheres made by bending two stainless-steel sheets into round shapes of varying sizes, and then welding and mirror-polishing them.

The installation imbibes a sense of physicality to the surrounding space, welcoming visitors to navigate underneath. We sought to give the rooftop an ever-changing enchanted atmosphere. The design aims to create a generous form of expression by allowing light and air to permeate the surroundings and enhance the lofty location of the venue.
